{"id":3966,"date":"2016-05-10T01:46:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-10T06:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.candoclemency.com\/?p=3966"},"modified":"2022-08-19T14:42:52","modified_gmt":"2022-08-19T19:42:52","slug":"can-foundation-movement-page-change-org","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sheryanne.com\/cando-new2\/can-foundation-movement-page-change-org\/","title":{"rendered":"CAN-DO Foundation has a Movement Page on Change.org!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CAN-DO Foundation and Change.org have organized a massive clemency \u201cmovement\u201d page, where many of our clemency applicants have an active petition on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/m\/clemency-for-nonviolent-drug-offenders\">Change.org\/clemency<\/a>. \u00a0This has been an invaluable tool for anyone seeking support for a pending clemency petition. \u00a0On August 3, 2016, President Obama granted an additional 214 clemencies. \u00a067 were people serving life without parole. \u00a0CAN-DO was advocating for 13 people who received clemency and seven people were on our Top 25. \u00a0FIVE of those seven had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/m\/clemency-for-nonviolent-drug-offenders\">change.org<\/a> petitions. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/clemency-for-my-mom-josephine-ledezma-serving-a-life-sentence\">Josephine Ledezma<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/barack-obama-clemency-for-minnie-pearl-thomas-serving-life-without-parole\">Minnie Pearl Thomas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/barack-obama-commute-the-sentence-of-charceil-kellam\">Charceil Kellam<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/barack-obama-grant-clemency-to-dicky-joe-jackson\">Dicky Joe Jackson<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/barack-obama-president-obama-grant-antonio-lopez-clemency\">Antonio Lopez<\/a>! \u00a0It&#8217;s a sign of progress but more needs to be done and you can help. \u00a0Josephine Ledezma is one of the success stories that we have been fighting for.
